Frankly my dear, I’m Gable.
My name is Gable and I am from a racetrack in Wisconsin. My racing name was Gable Serrano but my foster family likes to call me Clark Gable. I am a big and handsome boy. I just turned 4 in November 2008. I have been off the track since the last week in August 2008. I am a very happy and goofy boy. Every morning when my foster family wakes up with me I am so happy to see them. I think every day is just the best day ever. I have an outgoing personality and like to play catch, or chase as my foster family calls it. I chase the ball, pick it up and maybe or maybe not bring it back. I like playing tug-of-war with the kids. I am a very self-confident dog and would do well in a home with another dog or by myself. When I am with other dogs I usually like to be the leader. I listen well, I don’t get up on furniture and like to give slobbery kisses. My tail always wags, I am just so happy all the time. I do sometimes bark at strangers when they come to the house so I am sort of a watchdog (in a greyhound way-when I feel like it). I love to play with stuffed toys and hear them squeak. I am a little skittish on hardwood floors but as long as there are some rubber back throw rugs every 5 or 6 feet I get around well. I do enjoy shredding paper. I think they taught me that at the racetrack. I am really good at making the pieces of paper really, really small. I also enjoy taking naps in the traditional greyhound fashion – on my back with my legs straight up in the air. I am great with kids but I have never been around a cat or a small fluffy dog so I am not sure if I would like them or not but big dogs are great. I would really like to find a happy, loving forever home to live in.
