Dog Saves Choking Baby
by: Rover411.com, Michigan
Bullet, a 15 year-old golden retriever saved the life of an infanct in Bellport, NY.
After a complicated pregnancy, Pam Sica gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Troy Joseph, in April, 2002. Two weeks later, she was awakened to feed him at 4:30 am. She checked on her son and left him in his room to go to the kitchen to heat up a bottle. Shortly thereafter, Bullet, came charging in to her; barking, jumping and running back and forth between the kitchen and the baby’s room. Pam followed Bullet into the bedroom to find her infant blue and gasping for air.
Pam ran and got her husband who performed CPR on the baby while she called for help. Bullet remained watching protectively the entire time. Minutes later, the ambulance arrived and rushed the infant to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital in Patchogue where his condition was stabilized. Troy was later transferred to Stony Brook University Hospital and was diagnosed with pneumonia and held over for two weeks to recuperate.
Troy returned home two weeks later, with Bullet welcoming him.
As a reward, Bullet received a steak dinner from his owners. We at Rover411.com salute Bullet and consider him a true hero.
