Dangerous Dog Toy Recall
Please take immediate precautions if you have a Four Paws Rough & Rugged® Pimple Ball with Bell. The company has issued a recall as of August 26, 2008.
There has been at least two reported incidences of dogs getting their tongues stuck inside the ball, requiring surgery and causing permanent damage. While chewing the ball, a vacuum can be created effectively sucking a dog’s tongue into a small hole in the ball.
A dog named Chai suffered severe pain and ultimately had to have his tongue amputated as a result of swelling caused by injury from the ball. His story, as told by his owner, is documented at
