The Watch Dog: Happy Tails Dog Biscuit Recall

Jewel-Osco Voluntarily Recall Happy Tails Dog Biscuit Due to Salmonella Worries

Jewel-Osco voluntarily resaid this morning it is recalling a brand of dog biscuits because it may contain peanut butter contaminated with
salmonella.

Jewel-Osco, a division of Supervalu Inc. and leading Chicago supermarket and drugstore chain, recalled its Happy Tails multi-flavored dog biscuits. Like humans, salmonella in pets can cause diarrhea, vomiting, fever and abdominal pain. It can also be transferred to other animals or humans.

The recalled products, sold at Jewel-Osco stores, are Happy Tails Brand Multi-Flavored Dog Biscuits in 26-ounce (UPC#: 41163-42406) and 4-pound (UPC#: 41163-42403) sizes.

The company advised owners concerned their pets may have consumed the biscuits to consult a veterinarian.

Owners can return the dog biscuits to a Jewel-Osco store for a full refund or exchange.

Customers with questions can contact SUPERVALU at 877-932-7948.
