Ngong Ken, 6, and Collins, 8, dog protectively lying beside her. Ms. Adhiambo held the baby, carried her inside the house, fed and cleaned her before taking her to the police station. The child was then taken to Kenyatta National Hospital where doctors found maggots in the baby's umbilical cord.
Baby Angel, as the baby has been temporarily named, was dehydrated and would most likely have died had she remained in the forest for much longer. The baby was expected to make a complete recovery.
