Q & A - Greenies
Q: I was told that Greenies are dangerous for your dogs. I have read the package, and it states that it is good for their digestion, great for their teeth, etc. However, some members of the Greyheart Group of Michigan, state that they can actually kill the dog. These members are quite knowledgeable, and I respect their input. I have tried to read blogs about this. I am finding pros' and cons. Now Iamasking an expert. By the way, I have asked my vet, and he says they are fine. What do you think?
A: While greenies have been associated with problems including death from intestinal blockages, these seem to have occurred when the wrong sized bone was given to the dog... any object which is not thoroughly chewed can cause an obstruction, so make sure you give your pet the correct size treat or food item.
