Q & A - Bad Breath
Q: Our dog, Lizzie, has terrible plague buildup and bad breath, however she adversely reacts to anesthesia when I have had her teeth cleaned. I have tried brushing her teeth, but getting my finger and that brush inside her mouth is an ordeal. Can you recommend any alternatives?

A: A professional cleaning is ideal, and your veterinarian might be able to choose a better anesthetic for her. Otherwise, the Oxyfresh dental products that are recommend on my website are among the best I have found. They are easy to use and very inexpensive. I suggest you give them a try.
