How To Prepare Yourself And Your Dog For A Consultation With An Animal Communicator
by: Karen Anderson, Rover 411
A session with an Animal Communicator can provide surprising messages and helpful insight about you and your dog's relationship. Finding out what is on your dog's mind can bring you peace of mind, resolve behavior problems and even enhance your relationship. Most sessions are done over the phone so you don't need to take your dog to the appointment. Even if you are new to the concept of communicating with your dog, you can benefit from these tips on how to get the most out of your session.
First of all, make sure you are emotionally ready for your consultation. If your emotions are running high due to stress or an end of life concern with your dog, you may not be in the best state of mind. Take 10-15 minutes before your appointment time to relax and close your eyes. Sit quietly where you won't be disturbed and focus on your breathing. Being calm and emotionally stable will allow messages to come through more clearly. Tell your dogs out loud or quietly in your mind that you are excited to hear their messages. Let your dogs do what they normally do during the session time. A photo or description of your dog is all that is needed. If you are having a session with a deceased dog it may help you to have their photo nearby.
It is very important to have an open mind and leave your expectations behind. It is best not to expect to hear specific things as this can lead to disappointment. Animals have their own agenda and may not want to discuss the same thing you do. If you already know their favorite toy is the green squeaky toy, please don't ask that question. That is not what this work is about. Ask questions that you do not know the answers to and get your dog's perspective.
Remember your animals may have viewpoints that differ from yours. If a message from your dog does not match your opinion do not discount it's validity. This is a common problem with skeptics and those who are new to the process. If a message doesn't make sense right away it may come to you later. Many times it takes a while to let certain messages sink in. It is not unusual to hear back from clients weeks or months later when they finally figure out the meaning behind a specific message.
A little bit of preparation goes a long way and your dog will appreciate that you took the time to communicate with them. Be prepared and keep your goals in mind and you will make the most out of your session time.
